Summer Breeze Concert Series - 2010

Take pleasure in free musical entertainment right in your neighborhood with the Summer Breeze Concert Series. Performances are held lakeside select Saturdays in July and August on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, Schaumburg Court and Summit Drive.

Admission is free and shows start at 7 p.m. Pets are not permitted on the grounds during concerts. This season’s schedule features:

July 10 – Guitarra Azul: Best described as Rumba Flamenco and Latin Jazz, with many international influences, the all-original music of Guitarra Azul brings world class musicianship, irresistible rhythms, unforgettable melodies and spirited dance. Let Guitarra Azul transport you to a different place and time with their joyous celebration of life!

July 17 – August: With the sounds of Rock & Roll, soul, and R&Blues, the band's influences are diverse: the Beatles, Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Ray Charles, and the Doobie Brothers - to name a few. The mission of the band, then and now, is to preserve and present music that was the sound of the late 1960's through early 1970's, as well as some of the best of the newer artists.

July 24 – The Moods: Award-winning recording and performing artists since 1995, The Moods consists of four guys dedicated to the fine art of harmony and choreography. They're known for their vocal stylings, and have opened for such major talents as The Temptations, The Spinners, Mary Wells, Bernie Mac, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Stylistics, The Impressions and The Chi-Lites.

Aug. 14 – Rhythm Rockets: Since their debut in 1997, the Rhythm Rockets have performed to audiences of all ages across the country, bringing to the stage a danceable style of music that was popular throughout the 1940's and 1950's. Fronted by Nicole Kestler, one of Chicago's finest female vocalists, the Rockets deliver a vintage vibe in a show that swings the audience back to America's heyday.

Aug. 21 – Heartache Tonight: With their soaring harmonies and dynamic musicianship, the six multi-talented members of Heartache Tonight authentically capture the excitement of one of the world's true supergroups, The Eagles, Heartache Tonight showcases all the Eagle's greatest hits, including Hotel California, Take It Easy, and One of These Nights, and has wowed audiences at Ravinia, House of Blues, Hard Rock Cafe, Taste of Chicago and Wrigley Field.

Aug. 28 – Frank Winkler and the Symphonic Pops Orchestra: Always a summer favorite, this symphonic concert celebrates more than 20 years of Summer Breeze appearances with an evening of Broadway favorites and light classics. Complete with vocalists and a top-notch 35-piece ensemble, an evening with the Symphonic Pops Orchestra is the perfect way to finish off the summer season.
