Taste on the Tee serves up yummy round of golf

Jul 26, 2016

Enjoy a hoagie with that bogey? Nosh on some dip with that chip? Maybe partake of pie with that slice?

At the 9th annual Links Technology Cup, there’s no waiting for the “19th Hole” to enjoy delicious food and beverages.

Taste on the Tee is a unique feature of the Schaumburg Park Foundation’s annual golf outing which starts with a 10 a.m. shotgun, Aug. 10, at the Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road.

An almost-every-hole food and beverage experience, Taste is anchored by Chandler’s Banquets (Ala Carte Entertainment), which hosts pizza and brat holes and a post-golf BBQ steak dinner with all the fixings and premium open bar.

Proceeds from the outing benefit the Foundation’s work to support recreation scholarships and other projects of the Schaumburg Park District.

Food and beverage purveyors on the course include Riccardo’s Ristorante, International House of Pancakes, Pinstripes, Black Belt Brewery, Church Street Brewery, Costco, Coopers Hawk, MT Barrels, Jagermeister, The Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Chandler’s, Culver’s, Moretti’s, Tilted Kilt, Whole Foods Market, Village Tavern, Sam & Harry’s of the Marriott Renaissance Schaumburg, TopGolf and Trivedi Hospitality (Marriott hotels).

Even the non-restaurant businesses get into the act with Schaumburg Bank & Trust and State Farm pouring out some fun; and presenting sponsor Links Technology serving up something special. Schaumburg Park District Partner, Pepsi, will provide water and other soft drinks throughout the day. Still-hungry golfers need only flag down Morretti’s roving pizza cart, or take a break at the Foundation’s own sub-sandwich stop on Hole #1.

"The food and activities throughout the day are always a hit," said Pat Casler, Park Foundation executive vice president. "Golfers enjoy the progressive lunch, beverages and Chandler’s steak dinner with all the fixings."

The event begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. It's a steal of a deal at $165 per golfer that includes practice range warm-up, 10 a.m. shotgun start, 18 holes with cart in a scramble format, golfer gift, contests (no additional fee required), prizes, food and beverage on the course, and the legendary Chandler’s BBQ steak dinner in the beautiful clubhouse ballroom.

The event is open to foursomes, threesomes, twosomes and singles. Spots are limited. To register, visit schaumburgparkfoundation.org or call (847) 985-2115.
