Baby, it’s fun inside at early childhood holiday programs

Make your holiday and your tot happy with the Schaumburg Park District! 

The District is offering a variety of holiday-themed early childhood classes for the 6 and younger crowd, from festive fall and Thanksgiving programs to winter activities.

Upcoming classes include: 

  • Fall Fun with Our Friend, 9:30-10:30 a.m., Nov. 9, Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Children ages 2 ½ to 4 are invited to bring their favorite dolls, create crafts, sing songs and read a story about the season.
  • Gingerbread Kids, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Nov. 18, CRC. Children ages 3 to 5 will decorate gingerbread treats and read a story about the Gingerbread Man.
  • Turkey Fun, 10-11 a.m., Nov. 19, Pat Shephard Center, 421 N. Springinsguth Road. Stuff a plush turkey and search through Safety Park for hidden turkeys. Open to ages 2 to 6.
  • Minnie’s Holiday Workshop, 1-2 p.m. and 6:15-7:15 p.m., Dec. 1, CRC. Little ones will make and wrap holiday surprises, sing songs and enjoy a sweet snack. Holiday wear is encouraged. Open to ages 3 ½ to 6.
  • North Pole, Puppy Patrol, 1-2 p.m. Dec. 2, CRC. Children ages 3 ½ to 6 will meet frosty friends, go on a North Pole adventure, make a craft and enjoy a snack.

“These classes help children socialize, gain motor skills and learn about different seasons,” said Teresa Varco, early childhood supervisor. “Parents also have an opportunity to meet other moms and dads with children around the same age.”
