Summer Breeze Concert Series offers a ‘mini-Ravinia’ experience

Jun 15, 2017

Live music and lakeside views are an ideal combination for a summer evening.

Sponsored by the Schaumburg Park District and the Village of Schaumburg, the free Summer Breeze Concert series kicks off at 7 p.m., July 8, on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Court. Set to start the series is Semple, a dynamic band featuring Keith Semple, season nine participant in The Voice. Semple will bring a mix of songs ranging from 70s rock to modern pop. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic food and beverages for the free shows.

“It’s like a mini Ravinia in our own backyard,” said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. “Some attendees get up and dance while others relax with their friends.”

Other bands in the series include:

  • Tropixplosion, July 15
  • Deacon Blues, July 22
  • The Moods, Aug. 12
  • Heartache Tonight, Aug. 19
  • Frank Winkler & The Symphonic Pops, Aug. 26
