Local seniors are invited to participate in the Schaumburg Park District’s 10th annual Silver Games, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank.

The friendly competition kicks off at 8 a.m., Sept. 11 and continues through Sept. 15. Games take place at Friendship Village, 350 W. Schaumburg Road and the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springsguth Road.

Activities for the weeklong competition include bowling, baggo, billiards, fun walk, free throw contest, swimming, Wii and more.

“The Silver Games are a great way for our seniors to show their competitive side in a fun and good-natured atmosphere,” said Lisa Perrone, senior supervisor for the District. “However, competitiveness is not the goal of the event. The goal is for seniors in the community to be active and socialize at the same time.”

Participants must be 62 or older. Cost to participate in games and dinner is $15. Cost for games only is $10 and cost for dinner only is $5.
