Steal the show in Schaumburg Park District plays

Sep 11, 2017

Be a star! Schaumburg Park District’s Putting on Productions is seeking performers for “Annie Jr.” and “Christmas Eve’s Magical Toys.”

“Annie Jr.” tells the delightful rags to riches story of Annie—a loveable redheaded orphan. “Christmas Eve’s Magical Toys” features Santa and his elves in a 30-minute musical shown during the District’s annual North Pole Holiday Spectacular.

Parts are available for ages 7 through 20 for “Annie Jr.” and 7 to adult for “Christmas Eve’s Magical Toys.”

“We can’t wait for these shows,” said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. “Both feature fun songs and actors will have a great time being a part of these performances.”

Auditions will be held Sept. 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Sept. 14 from 5:45 to 9:15 p.m., at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Interested performers must bring a non-returnable head shot (or school photo) marked with name, age, address and phone number and prepare a short acapella song for the audition.

Casting fee for those offered a part in the play is $85. Actors who audition and receive roles in both plays will have a reduced casting fee of $75 per play.
