Kick off the holiday season with a live stage show, cookies and a visit with Santa and his friends.

Schaumburg Park District’s North Pole Holiday Spectacular, sponsored by AMITA Health, is set for 1:30-4 p.m. and 5-7:30 p.m., Dec. 2 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Participants may choose from two event times.

Activities include the original play “Christmas Eve’s Magical Toys” as well as music, games, crafts and prizes. Families should bring their own cameras for a photo with Santa. As part of the event, characters also will tell stories about holiday traditions.

“The atmosphere will be very festive,” said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. “This is a fun event for the whole family.”

Tickets for each session are $6 per adult and $8 per child. Day-of event cost is $8 per adult and $10 per child. Tickets may only be purchased at the CRC.
