Learn ways to use simple farm fresh ingredients to create wholesome, tasty dishes at home with Schaumburg Park District’s Farm to Table Cooking Series.
The first class in the series –Better with Bacon– is set for 10 a.m.-noon, Feb. 10 at Spring Valley’s Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road. The class will teach the time honored tradition of making bacon.
“This cooking series offers simple recipes using local ingredients that are easy to make at home,” said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator.
Upcoming classes include:
- Biscuits and Honey, 10 a.m.-noon, Feb. 24
- Farm Fresh Eggs, 10 a.m.-noon, March 24
Cost for each class is $12 for residents and $18 for non-residents. Participants may register for individual programs or the entire series.
