Travel under the sea with Ariel and her friends during Schaumburg Park District’s production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.”

“The Little Mermaid Jr. will be performed March 9 to 11 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Kira Weiland plays the lead role of Ariel —a young mermaid who longs to leave the ocean and walk on land.

“Kira has an incredible voice,” said Cultural Arts Supervisor Beth Waller. “There’s so much to enjoy about this show—the costumes, the talented cast, the music. The audience can sing along.”

In addition to an entertaining “fish out of water” story, the audience also can expect plenty of laughs.

“There are so many funny scenes,” Waller said. “This is a really fun show.”

Upcoming show times include:

  • 7 p.m., Friday March 9
  • 2 p.m. & 7 p.m., Saturday, March 10
  • 2 p.m., Sunday, March 11

Tickets are available at the CRC and cost $12 for adults and $7 for youth 12 and younger. Admission is free to children ages 2 and younger if being held.
