Dec 11, 2018

Hike, build with LEGOS or play games at Schaumburg Park District winter break camps.

From a chess camp offering competition and prizes to camps featuring indoor swimming and field trips, there’s plenty of fun to be had this winter.

Led by district staff, Chess Scholars coaches and Play Well’s Jedi instructors, camps take place at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane and Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Spring Valley Winter Break Camp also will be offered at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Campers will explore outside, track animals and look for birds.

“Even though children won’t be in school, that doesn’t mean the fun and learning has to stop,” said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager and general program supervisor. “We offer a variety of camps featuring different themes and skills so there’s something for everyone to have fun.”
