Volkening Lake

Whether it's walking, fishing, picnicking, boating or simply sitting and enjoying the beautiful scenery, Volkening Lake has something for everyone. Located next to the Schaumburg Police Station and Firehouse on Schaumburg Road, the lake is an ideal location for a fun family afternoon. The boat dock has both canoes and paddle boats available. Concessions are available and include soft drinks, popcorn and candy.

Rules and Regulations

1. Children under 9-years-old must be accompanied by an adult to use canoes or paddle boats.
2. Life jackets must be worn at all times in a canoe or paddle boat.
3. Tipping of canoes, water fights and general horse play will not be tolerated.
4. Only two persons per two-man paddle boats and four persons per four-man paddle boats.
5. Anyone not following all rules set up by the Schaumburg Park District will lose all boating privileges for the day.
6. Persons using equipment on their Family Pool Pass will be limited to ONE-hour rentals.
7. No wind surfing, inflatable mattresses or inner tubes allowed.
