Backyards for Nature Fair & Native Plant Sale

Discover simple ways to "go green" in your home landscape at the annual Backyards for Native Fair & Native Plant Sale.

A large variety of native shrubs, wildflowers and grasses suitable for home landscape will be for sale throughout the day at Spring Valley. Garden experts will provide information on how and where to use various native plants, home composting, rain gardens and more. Kids’ gardening activities, birdhouse building and free wildflower seedlings will be available.

There will be a silent auction of painted rain barrels with auction proceeds benefitting Friends of Busse Woods.

Pre-ordering of plants is advised to get the widest selection. Pre-orders must be received by April 20. Quantities and varieties cannot be guaranteed for orders received after this date. Order pick-up is May 5. A new feature for this year's sale will be a streamlined pick-up process for pre-ordered plants.

Spring Valley Nature Club Herb & Vegetable Sale

The Spring Valley Nature Club is sponsoring the inaugural Heirloom Herb and Vegetable Sale. Due to popular demand, the Nature Club has sought out unusual, delicious and hard to find plant varieties. Finds include nine varieties of tomatoes chosen for unique features and robust flavors, seven hard to find herb species thar add beauty, flavor and interest to gardens and patios, and 18 varieties of vegetables. All plants are mature and ready for planting in garden and patio containers.

Pre-ordering is recommended. Pre-order deadline is April 26.
