Outreach Programs

Overview

We will bring the outreach program to your site. Topics include forest, worms, spiders, mammals, food chains, food webs and the water cycle. Students participate in hands-on activities such as puppet shows, songs and games. Topics are appropriate for students in grades 1-6 and are correlated with Illinois state standards.

Fees

All Outreach Program fees are per class and are discounted when class visits are scheduled to run consecutively. Teachers are encouraged to creatively schedule around lunch periods in order to accomplish this. If this is impossible, and a wait of more than 40 minutes between programs is necessary, then the same day discount cannot be offered and fee for the next class will be at the first class rate.

Programs included a variety of hands-on activities and topics correlated with Illinois State Learning Standards and the National Education Science Standards.The maximum class size for any program is 30 students.

The feee structure for all one-hour programs is as follows:

• $70 for the first class.
• $60 for the second class when scheduled consecutively.
• $50 for each additional class when scheduled consecutively.

The fee structure for the two-hour Owls: Predators of the Night program is as follows:

• $140 for the first class.
• $120 for the second class when scheduled consecutively
• $100 for each additional class when scheduled consecutively
• Teachers are welcome to provide owl pellets; otherwise, there will be an additional charge dependent on the market cost at the time the program is scheduled.
