There was a packed prairie at the Solstice Hop and Vine Fest.
More than 950 wine, beer and food aficionados enjoyed tastings on Spring Valley’s prairie June 16 at the second annual Solstice Hop and Vine Fest at Schaumburg Park District’s Spring Valley Nature Center. The event benefitted the Schaumburg Park Foundation’s campaign to renovate the nature museum at Spring Valley.
Guests enjoyed delicious drinks and appetizing food from area restaurants, breweries and wineries as fireflies and jazz music filled the air on the warm summer evening.
“This year’s event was bigger, better and a great success,” said Pat Casler, executive vice president of the Schaumburg Park Foundation. “We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic restaurants, breweries and wineries.”
Local wineries and breweries represented included home winery Lynfred Winery, Acquaviva Winery, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants, Fox Valley Winery, Inc.; Hailey’s Winery, Ltd.; The Lucky Monk Burger, Pizza and Beer Co.; Ram Restaurant and Brewery; Village Vintner Winery; and Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery.
Whole Foods Market Schaumburg, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Moretti’s Ristorante and Pizzeria, and Riccardo’s Ristorante sampled tasty bite-size delights.
“The funds raised at the Fest for the museum renovation will help the next generation learn about and appreciate nature,” said Casler.
The Schaumburg Park Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization.
