While environmental doom and gloom often dominates the media, there have been some conservation success stories that the public at large is often unaware of. The return of wildlife species to areas where they had been absent for decades are among these stories.
Join us as Chris Anchor, Senior Wildlife Biologist at the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, shares information on the status of wild creatures such as beavers, river otters, bald eagles and more. He’ll also help us understand the environmental factors that have led to the resurgence of many of these fascinating and beautiful wildlife species to our urban areas.
The program is free and open to the public as part of Spring Valley’s winter volunteer meeting. For more information, please call 847-985-2100.
