Wedding reservations are taken starting mid-January of the year of your wedding.
Application Schaumburg Park District Park Usage Application
Photos may be taken in Schaumburg Park District parks. Volkening Lake
is a popular area requested for wedding photos. If you would like to reserve a time and location for photos, there is a $15 fee for a permit. Permits resolve the issue of two or more groups arriving at the same time for photos. Please fill out a park usage application and submit with the fee. Allow approximately 1-2 weeks after submittal to receive the permit.
The Tribute Garden at Volkening Lake can accommodate a smaller outdoor wedding party (approx. 25-30).
The Perennial Garden at Volkening Lake, located toward the back of the park behind the police station, is available for a larger group (approx. 50).
Volkening Lake also has a large picnic shelter which can be used for a wedding ceremony. This shelter could possibly accommodate 50 guests. It is located mid-park.
If you would like to reserve one of these areas, complete a park usage application.
There is not an area that is both indoor/outdoor usable.
Schaumburg Park District does not rent chairs. If renting chairs from a rental company, the Park District will need a certificate of insurance from the company for liability purposes. This certificate of insurance must be for at least $1,000,000 coverage in Commercial General Liability insuring the Schaumburg Park District as additional insured and yourself.
Areas may be decorated for weddings, but these decorations must be removed when leaving the area.
The cost of reserving the garden/shelter areas for weddings is $100 for residents and $150 for non-residents. Picnic tables are included in the cost of the reservation.
