Schaumburg Park District is preparing to replace the steel sheet piling currently protecting the creek at Lancer Creek from Summit Drive to Fennel Lane. This important project will help reduce erosion and improve the long-term health of the pathway along the creek and pond.
Last year, we completed a survey to assess the extent of existing steel sheeting. Due to the scale of the work, the project may be completed in multiple phases.
In recent years, we’ve had great success using a variety of shoreline stabilization techniques at Lancer Creek by the Crystal Court area. We plan to use similar methods for this section on Lancer Creek. These include:
