Our Community Garden Plots are located in Olympic Park on the west end of the park at Old Schaumburg Road and Wildflower Lane.
Rental application forms are available below. Fill out the rental application, sign the rental agreement, and submit by Feb. 21 to firstname.lastname@example.org. The lottery will take place Feb. 28 and you will be notified if you receive a plot.
Plots are rototilled in spring and are ready approximately mid-April, depending on weather.
Size - 100 garden plots measuring 18'x18'.
Plot Assignment - Renters are assigned plot numbers. Each plot is staked and a numbered flag is placed in mid-plot.
Rental/Cost - Resident $25 (each plot); Non-Resident $40 (each plot). New renters may rent one plot.
Availability - Rental dates are mid-April through October. As soon as weather permits (approximately mid-April), all plots will be roto-tilled and staked out. Perennial plants are not suggested as our parks department roto-tills each spring/fall. The renter may roto-till his/her assigned plot again if he or she wishes. When plots are ready for planting, confirmation of assigned plot number will be mailed.
Location - Entrance to the garden is off of Schaumburg Road, just east of Meacham Road. Turn right onto Wildflower Lane and go to the Olympic Park entrance. There are two separate garden areas connected by a pathway at the west end of the parking lot.
Water - Water is available. There are four water pumps; two in each area. No hoses are allowed. Please bring your own container. Pumps are on a timer which is on during park hours. Water is turned on approximately May 1.
Hours - Olympic Park is open 7 a.m.-11 p.m. There are no lights in the garden area. There is no security on-site.
Parking -Please note that Olympic Park is an extremely active park— evenings and weekends are busy. Obey all parking signs or you may be ticketed.
