For kids whose birthday wish is to throw on some sneakers and get their heart pumping, Schaumburg Park District offers a unique variety of sport-centric birthday parties everyone will enjoy!
The Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, offers an array of party packages that include one hour of the chosen sport activity on the field or court and one hour in the party room.
These “all-inclusive” parties include invitations, a special gift for the birthday boy or girl, and a party host that will serve your choice of pizza or hot dogs and soft drinks. Party hosts will also help with setup and cleanup of paperware, plasticware, and decorations and will lead sport activities.
“We’re excited to offer sport party packages as a birthday option for kids of all ages,” said Karen Shannon, The Sport Center manager. “We enjoy celebrating the birthday boy or girl and watching them run out into the field with their friends and engaging in friendly competition.”
The Sport Center party packages include up to 10 children and one hour of a chosen activity supervised by a party host:
• Bubble Soccer (ages 8-16) –Have fun bouncing off of friends while trying to score that winning goal! Participants will play a game on one turf soccer field while being half-encased in an inflated bubble.
• Fantastic Gymnastics (ages 6-12) –Show off your gymnastic skills during group instruction and supervised free play in the gymnastics facility.
• Grand Slam Baseball (5 years & older) –Hit a home run with supervised instruction, activities and games of your choice in the batting tunnel or baseball field.
• Super Spike Volleyball, Slam Dunk Basketball or Dodgeball (5 years & older) –Spike, dunk or dodge in the sport of your choice with supervised basketball, volleyball or dodgeball instruction, games and activities.
• Tiny Tot Gym Jam (ages 3-5) –Great for active toddlers that just want to move. Includes supervised play in the gym with a variety of play equipment, games and activities.
• Touchdown Flag Football (5 years & older) –Get to the end zone with your flag intact during a no-contact game of flag football! Activity will take place on one of the indoor soccer fields.
• World Cup Soccer (5 years & older) –Be your own Messi or Ronaldo during your own World Cup soccer game! Game will take place on one of the indoor soccer fields.
Parties must be booked at least two weeks prior to the event. The maximum number of guests is 20 (this total does not include adults who are not participating in the activity).
