Keeping Parks Safe: E-Bike & E-Scooter Guidelines

As the use of electric bikes and electric scooters continues to grow throughout our community, Schaumburg Park District is taking steps to ensure our parks remain safe, welcoming spaces for everyone.

Our parks and trails are shared spaces used by young children, families, seniors, walkers, runners, and recreational athletes. The use of electric bikes and scooters in pedestrian areas can create safety conflicts.

The Village of Schaumburg recently passed an ordinance governing the use of e-bikes and e-scooters. The full Village ordinance can be viewed here.

While Schaumburg Park District follows Village guidelines, in some cases our regulations are more restrictive. Electric bikes and electric scooters are prohibited at:
