At Schaumburg Park District, excellent customer service starts with a commitment to safety. In 2019 the District switched its pool operations and lifeguard training standards to the Ellis & Associates system, which is known to have the most comprehensive requirements for aquatic safety in the world. Today, the District is proud to announce that its pools and lifeguards received an Exceeds rating on their most recent audit. This is the third time this year the District has received this score.

“Safety training never stops in our aquatics program,” said Heather Simross, manager of fitness and aquatics. “Lifeguards are audited daily by managers including Vigilance Awareness Testing as well as spinal management drills and unconscious guest scenarios.”

According to Simross, since May, lifeguards have gone through over 6,000 hours of training.

Currently, Schaumburg Park District operates two outdoor pools, Atcher Island, 730 S. Springinsguth Road, and Meineke Pool, 220 E. Weathersfield Way, as well as the year-round The Water Works Indoor Water Park, 505. N Springinsguth Road.
